Context window

A context window is the amount of a conversation an AI can “see” and refer back to at once.

Once a conversation goes on long enough to go past this limit, the AI starts losing track of the earliest parts and may stop referring back to them accurately. This is different from memory, which is a separate feature some AI tools have for remembering things about you across different conversations, not just within one.
